THE AFTERMATH EFFECTS OF TIDAL WAVE IN ANLOGA DISTRICT (FINAL PRODUCTION)

Are the people of Anyanui and it’s environs being ignored by the appropriate authorities?

This is the Keta Ramser Site (Anyanui)

Anyanui is a little town situated in the Anloga district of the Volta region of Ghana. It is also called the Ramser site in Ghana because it is known to be the hub of mangrove swamps in Ghana.

This is a photo of part of the Anyanui Market

On the 7th of November 2021 a tidal wave occurred along the coastal belt of the region and thus affected the islands and business. Anyanui was also affected because it happens to be the business hub for most people.

The market women who usually spend their Wednesdays in the busy market are complaining bitterly due to low turn out of customers and sometimes one can come to the market without selling anything.

Some of the affected people in and outside the market.

The cause of this predicament is as a result of the tidal wave leading to a blockage of a portion of the Anyanui lagoon by sand bars making it difficult for businesses to go on effectively.

According to Jasper Agbanator, the assembly man for the area an appeal was made to the local authorities but proved futile” we wrote a letter to the district assembly but nothing was done about the situation so we decided to start the manual dredging for free flow of the river “.

Mr Jasper also called on organizations and individuals to help them achieve the dream of dredging using the modern technology .

Do you think the people of Anyanui and it’s environs are also enjoying the National cake as those in the urban areas??
