DIFFERENT, NOT LESS (FINAL PRODUCTION )

Autism and modeling in one

Photo modeling is a highly competitive part of the modelling  industry. It attracts people with the  charm, poise and confidence  to produce  stunning images for advertising of products and services

But the face of photo modelling in Ghana is changing due to the presence of  a group of specially abled people breaking protocols to venture into the industry.
Night of Mr and Miss Autism

Yaa has lived with autism for the past 19 years. This serious developmental disorder has affected her ability to communicate and interact socially.

Despite this complex developmental condition, Yaa has braced the odds to venture into the career of photo modelling.

Yaa, modeling Shasha's wigs

Yaa has so far advertised wigs, clothing  and other products to support her determined mother financially. She owes a debt of gratitude to Afi Anthonio , a model whose NGO is training children living with autism to become photo models.
                                   Afi Antonio training models

Afi has also organized the Mr and Miss autism competition to give hope to children living with autism and their distressed  parents.
On the night of Mr&Miss Autism

The partners of Afi'a works are not only looking at financial benefits but contributing meaningfully to societal

transformation by putting smiles on the faces of  people with special needs.

                                                   Miss Autism

According to Naa Ashorkor, a media personality, on the night of Mr and Miss Autism, " to be able to raise a child and see them through life even up to this point, to take part in an event like this must bring amazing joy to you as a parent and anybody in the child's life. I would like to say congratulations to all the parents, Ghanaian, and caregivers here. Congratulations for the hard work that sometimes society does not acknowledge or appreciate"
